The difference between petrol stations only a couple of miles from each other is incredible. The Maxol in Whitehouse, Newtownabbey (who always seem to lead the price rises, followed by BP) was 133.9 per litre for diesel whereas the one beside Iceland on the Doagh Road (also Newtownabbey) was only 126.9 per litre for diesel.
I can't for the life of me understand why there is the huge difference.0 -

The filling station on the A1 on the way to Banbridge always seems to be competitive. Name escapes me I'm afraid. It's the one with the restaurant beside it and has a green totem.0 -
If filling stations charged the same people would be complaining that it is all a big cartel! Sometimes it pays to shop around - sometimes it is not worth the hassle of trying to saving a couple of pence a litre. Drive more than a few hundred extra yards to fill up and you will have largely lost any savings!
Never had a problem with supermarket fuel and studiously avoid huckster and hole in the wall sites sites that are regularly raided and closed by HM Customs. If it looks too good to be true it probably is!0 -

Most of these are 'rented' so the owner is not responsible!0 -

Don't believe the signage!Dave0 -
Matters not a jot to me who is really selling the fuel at huckster sites or who "owns" the site. I don't go near them.0

Hightrees in Donaghadee (Maxol) is up at £1.35 but they don't seem to have any petrol as since before Christmas, their pumps have been locked,The Centra which is 1/4 mile away is £1.29 a litre unleaded.
I too prefer BP & find I get better MPH with that one.0
