Tesco Credit Card

I am in the process of aquiring my 1st Credit Card and have decided the Tesco one is my best option. Before i go through the rigmarole of applying i was just wondering what they would give me as a credit limit?
I have come out with an excellent rating on my intial credit score checks.
I only ask as thinking i would only use this for a family holiday every year, pay it off before the 0% is up, then aquire a new one to pay for the following years holiday.
It is just an idea at the moment but savings, until potential pay rise next year, are at a premium in the current climate.

Mate how do you have a excellent credit score if this will be your first credit card?
  • I have had numerous Loans/Mobile phone contracts etc..which have obviously helped but other than that, being new to credit scores/ratings, i am not really sure why?

I have done a couple of tests through this website which confirmed 'excellent' status hence why i put this info down on original post.

If it's your first then Tesco is probably not the card for you.

I would try Crap 1, your bank or Barclaycard.

It's all down to debt against your income eg overdrafts and loans and credit cards (excluding your mortgage). If you have none of these then you will be in with a chance of getting a high limit!

    Is it, I'm not sure?
I've got no debt bar the mortgage, never ever been overdrawn, or had a loan, or anything on credit and my income is just below middling.

I think mine's low because I have no credit record, I've never had credit.

I've just started to apply online for the 0% Tesco card but was a bit put off when they asked for my bank details? Is that normal? The only cards I've had before are from my bank (so I suppose they already had the details!) and store cards which didn't ask for them.

I think I have a good credit rating, but does having several cards affect it?

    Thanks.
