Customer loyalty counts for nothing with Virgin

In our household we currently have 2 contract mobiles and 1 PAYG through Virgin. My daughter has jumped ship to Orange, so rather than paying off her Virgin contract, I have taken it over and put her Virgin contract SIM into my Virgin phone.

Virgin say they cannot transfer the number from my PAYG SIM to the contract SIM, which seems ridiculous. In fact it would be possible, if I wasnt already a Virgin customer.

Feel as though our household's loyalty to the Virgin brand counts for nothing - especially galling as we also have all our TV/broadband/home phone with Virgin. :mad:

Your daughters contract number is committed to the contract and in order to transfer your PAYG number to your daughters ongoing agreement, your daughers contract would have to be terminated. This would mean paying the early termination charge. You would then be free to start a new contract with your PAYG number.

Not being able to swap contract numbers around is standard practice across the networks.
