Vodafone owes me money

Hi
Hopefully someone could help me retrieve my money from vodafone.
On 22nd december 2010 i purchased an iphone as a christmas present for my wife from the vodafone store in oldham. at the time of purchase there was a system problem and so the transaction by my debit card was not showing up so i paid again with my debit card and received a hand written receipt. i agreed with the business advisor to check my bank balance and if it showed that i had paid twice the outstanding amount would be re-imbursed to my account.
in a nutshell i am still owed the money, i have been back to the shop, who have sent an email of to admin, and after checking my bank account today, 04th jan 2011 still no sign of it.
was given £10 off when i paid again as a sign of goodwill, laughable amount on reflection as it spoilt my christmas break plus all legwork on my behalf as i had to do all phoning to shop for updates on problem etc. can anyone advise me.

It's not clear from your post what has happened. Some indication of what happened in the gap between making the payment and still being owed the money.
Have they made the refund, but it's not appeared in your account? Or have they not made the refund?
  • no they have not made the refund. i have been back to the shop, on the 27th december, and a member of staff sent an email off to admin highlighting the problem about my 'double' payment due to a system error. in the email sent to their admin my contact details were included. i have heard nothing since from them.

I wouldn't wait on their "admin department". The shop charged you twice so the shop should refund you. If you can prove (i.e., 2 receipts and twice the money come out of your bank) then the shop should just refund.

Ask for the manager and don't take no for an answer. It's their mistake and you are out of pocket.

    Hi focuscorsa

That is certainly not ideal just before Christmas. I can understand you being annoyed.

I'd really like to investigate this and get your money back to you as soon s possible.

So that we can do this please could you send me an email from here with WRT135 in the subject line and a link to this thread in the body of the text.

I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this.

    All the best
