Free Anti-virus

Good Morning & Happy New Year
I downloaded AVG but it fails to Update. Can't uninstall. Installed Avira but can't find whether I am eMail protected. Any Help/Advice much appreciated.

use avast 5 free instead, and download and run the avg removal tool

Also try malwarebytes as a supplementary scanner

Do NOT keep installing antivirus without removing old ones.

To remove AVG go HERE http://www.avg.com/us-en/download-tools and download the 32bit or 64 bit, whichever is the operating system you have.

A word of warning on AVAST if you find your browsing has gone slow, then it is the WEBguard or whatever they call it, it can slow down the web by a third or more. Does not happen with Avira or AVG.

If AVG dioes not update it could be your windows firewall that has blocked it, you need to check this.

Avast 5.1 does not slow down browsing to any great extent that you will notice when using Web Shield. It is one on the best free anti-virus programs and likely is THE BEST..

AVAST is in the top 3 of antivirus, it updates every day!
