If that does happen, then it won't make any difference to your premiums because you don't declare them past 5 years haha. Something about all this doesn't add up. If they really are the MIB, then they have records of everyone's insurance details because that's one part of what they're there for!
The OPs partner has a trade policy so that won't note the registration of each vehicle he has in his posessession afaik?0 -
The MIB rang him on New Years Eve saying that he needs to get a solicitor because they're issuing a CCJ??? against him!!
If you haven't heard from a court, then relax; it's all bluff. If you do receive a stamped N1 form from a real court, then you must respond promptly and take it from there. Even then, a real CCJ will still be a long way off.0 -

as previously stated they are scammers/chancers and no good can come from having any contact with them (so don't)
So basically, is this (potentially/probably) just like that law firm (ACS-Law) that chase/send threatenming letters to people for allegedly downloading copyrighted material via P2P software?0 -
Contact the real MIB - you've been given the number twice.
The odds are that this company is just trying it on and trying to get money out of anyone they can link to the car regardless of stupid things like evidence.0 -

Actually, it's the MIB I am most annoyed with. I can't help wondering why they haven't tried to contact us sooner? why they dish out money to people without checking facts first... why they hand over the details to a debt recovery agency. I would ring the MIB but I would think they would tell me that they need to speak to Chris (my OH) as it's him they are accusing of driving without insurance etc.0 -
It is the MIB he needs to deal with ignore the other company. Ask for details of any claim and inform them that you dispute the claim. If you phone them I would write also and get a certificate of postage. Until you know the full details we are all just guessing!0

We lived at the same address until May 2004 so we were there a year and a month after the so called accident... after that we went to NZ and then after a year to Manchester.. even so, the debt recovery agency found us, why couldnt the MIB? My OH is still at work so he may have to ring the MIB tomorrow now.0
