When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :D

And good morning to you all lovely people, hope you are all good today;)

It's a while since I got us started - it's good to be back:rotfl:

    Morning All

Hi to all new posters. Hugs to those that need them. Hope everyone feels better soon ((((hugs))))

Hi Milly – thanks for starting the thread this morning (forgot to say hi yesterday)

    Today I have/will
    • Checked online banking – 2 DD’s have gone out, no sign of the gym taking their money (after 8 years everything seems to be going wrong there!)
    • Check emails
    • Meals from storecupboard
    • Try to have a NSD – have bought in snacks so I avoid the machine
    • Used my rail pass to get to work
    • Work really hard at work as there is loads to do
    • Catch up with friends on FB rather than texting people
    • Read newspaper online
    • Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
    • Enter comps online
    • Washing on a quick wash 30 degrees
    • Look up more treatments for PCOS – this time to reduce the facial hair (this is really doing my head in and I don’t really want to go to the expense of having laser treatment….the NHS will not pay for it)
    • Need to chase up my pre-pay certificate as they are about to take the second DD (and I need to reclaim £28 worth of medicines)

    Have a great day everyone

    Hi you lovely people!

Hope you're all having a good day so far. I'm not having the best of days as a) I woke up with the sniffles, b) I had to get the bus to work as c) my car is broken and d) I'm not having a LSD :(

In spite of all that, I've done the following:-
    • Checked online banking
    • [STRIKE]Brought lunch from home (veggie soup)[/STRIKE] Got a Greggs sandwich instead but will be better tomorrow I promise!!
    And I will...:
    • [STRIKE]Check online banking for other account[/STRIKE]
    • Go shopping for bargains in Tescos this evening
    • Walk to Tesco and back instead of getting a cab
    • Get gas/electric for the house and walk there instead of getting a cab
    • Buy Just Dance and go halves with my sis to save money (she'll be using it anyway so might as well get some money for it!)
    Happy money saving! x
    October Grocery Challenge - £67.18/£135
    Save up £500 - £0/£500
    NSDs for October - 0/10

Hello all, aiming for as many money-making and NSDs as possible this year as need to get some savings up!

Check banking and do forecast for next six weeks
Check all direct debits/plans to see if I can save pennies
    Store cupboard meals
    Some Amazon listing
Apply for some more mystery shops
Chase up a refund owed to me from before Xmas
Sort through 6wk olds babygro and vests as he has already grown out of so many of the early ones - wash, bundle and get ready for next free listing day on Ebay.

I start Weightwatchers again tonight and will pay by monthly payment to save a few pounds and can register for free.
