Unlock tmobile iphone so O2 sim can be used
Hi,
My daughter has been given her dads old iphone. He lives in Germany and bought his iphone there so it is locked to Tmobile.
She wants to be able to use it with O2 as it is the best deal for her, any ideas how we can unlock it so that this is possible.
I am not talking about jailbreaking, just making it possible to use it with O2.
Thank you for any advice.

Assuming the old phone contract has no issues (ie all paid up, end of minimum term etc) the best way is for you to ask her Dad to ask T-mobile to unlock it. They do that by telling the details to Apple and the next time it syncs in itunes to Apple it will unlock. It does not need to be in Germany to do it it's done over the web.
Otherways may unlock it but theres the risk it may get re-lokced in an update, so try the TM Germany first.0 -
Thanks for your advice, I will point her towards this thread and she can sort that out. Sounds pretty straightforward to me.
