Is the boiler on all the time or is it on standby for some of the time? Seems that the wireless stat isn`t communicating with the boiler. Are you able to change the signal. Do you have wireless router, cordless phones etc? they may interfere with the signal.
  • The boiler is constantly on from when it comes on until it reaches 20.5,6-8 hours later! then it stays off until the temp falls to 19, when it comes on again. I have a wireless router but it's not on all the time, but the temps on the wireless thermostat seem accurate.

Are you able to unplug the router to see if it makes a difference?

Surely there should not be a TRV installed in the same room as the wireless 'stat?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Having the router off makes mo difference it's been done. The thermostat can be in the same room as the Trv's according to fitter and handbook. The boiler struggles to reach the comfort temp, once there works fine.

Is the boiler thermostat on maximum?
  • Yes.
Hopefully the fitter can come out tomorrow, clearly it's a puzzler.

Normally yes but as long as it's kept at max then it'll be OK.

OP, make sure you haven't got the thermostat located where there may be a draft or an external wall, as its wireless try sticking it a different room. Similarly don't place it too near a heat source either.
  • The TRV is on max, and the thermostat is away from an outside source and a source of heat. This morning the bathroom hot water tap made a terrible noise and I've told the fitter who is coming late afternoon/evening. He's not happy as he says he left it working ok and I must have messed with it!!!! Anyway he is coming to look.
