Can this be right?

last week I had a new Worcester Bosch 24i Junior boiler fitted by an accredited fitter. I live in a 2 bedroomed, end terrace house, with one bathroom and 6 radiators. The heating is coming on at 5.45 am and taking 8 hours to reach the comfort temperature of 20 .5 degrees when on heat setting 5, when turned to maximum it is taking 6 hours. I had new gas pipes from the gas meter to the boiler fitted, and the system had a power flush. Surley it shouldn't be taking this long for the boiler to reach 20.5 degrees, on not particularly cold days? I will contact the fitter tomorrow after he returns from holiday, but any ideas/advice gratefully received.

Where is your thermostat, assuming you have one?
    Do you have TRV's?

Did you achieve your desired room temperature with the old boiler?
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Yes no problems at all
  • the new boiler is a condensing boiler, my last boiler was a combi 91/2 years old.

Apart from getting the fitter back, does it heat the hot water for the sink allright? Is there a possibility that anything may be interfering with the wireless thermostat?

  • The hot water is very hot. I'm not aware of anything interferring with the thermostat although today for a couple of minutes the control box by the boiler went to red to show no signal. I've checked the temperature being shown on the thermostat with two others and they are all the same. I've emailed and left phone messages for the fitter, and will phone him tomorrow-he is back tomorrow after the hols.

What type of wireless thermostat do you have and what are the timed settings? Is your living room rad big enough for the room and is it getting hot?

    Two other what?
  • I have a Siemens RDJ10RF/SET-GB, installed by the fitter. it comes on at 5.45 am and goes off at 23.00. I left two other thermometers by it to just check that the temperature was accurate on the Siemans--they are all reading the same
