No jsa in card account

Hi everyone, this is my first posting, and I probably wont be able to respond to any replies as my lights are just about to go out !
Today my jsa normally goes into my PO card account. But not today..zilch,not a bean. The offices in Scotland are closed until Wednesday so there is no way I can get in touch with them until then.
This happened once before a month back, when my benefit did not go into my acc. until the next day. When I asked them what the problem was they had no idea! I have some candles for the black out to come but any food I have is in tins,so its cold beans and water for me.
Also I borrowed money on the belief that my money would be there on Monday..
These are the bad times....

Today is officially the New Year's Day Bank Holiday. Might make a difference as to when payments go into bank accounts.
Although I have to say that Lloyds TSB was open this morning, albeit with a reduced level of staffing.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

This might sound silly but are you sure you've not had it? If it is due today it should have been received some tiem last week as payments would have been "advanced" de to theu Bank Holiday."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Like sammy just said, are you sure you didnt get it last week? Any benefits due today (and even some that were due tomorrow in some cases) got paid last week (my CA was due today and my partners DLA which was due tomorrow, both got paid on the 31st). Id check your PO acc as soon as poss to make sure it goes in. If not, youve got some telephone calls to make when the offices re-open. Im sure its just down to the holidays though. Good luck!0

Don't you think I would know if I had received my benefit on Friday and forgotten that I had ? I dont want to sound ungrateful but ,replies like that are of no use to anyone.

I think you'll find that the Social Fund crisis loan system will be getting hammered all this week by people who "didn't know they got their benefit early" and who "just spent it" even though they "didn't know where the money came from".
No doubt the excuses are getting dreamt up right now, in preparation for the crisis loan application lines opening tomorrow morning.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -
Lights back on,borrowed a fiver. Please let me clarify the situation for the hard of thinking. My wife and I recieve £200 per fortnight,we get it every second Monday. We budget our living expenses down to the last quid. Do you honestly imagine that anyone trying to survive on that pittance could possibly get their benefit paid early ,withdraw the cash and not be aware of it ! Dealing with the morons at the benefit office will be a breeze compared to dealing with the numbskulls on this site.
Goodbye.:mad:0 -
