Water park holiday for 2 adults & 3 children August 2011

Sorry this is my first time of starting a thread so please bear with me.
I'm looking for a holiday to a water park this summer for myself, husband and three children, aged, 6,4 and 1 during the 2nd/last week in August.
We were thinking Turkey perhaps but not too sure, definately needs to be somewhere with a water park though and not too expensive.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. :-)

hi there have you taken them abroad in August before as it will be absolutely baking0

Have a look here http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/sun-holidays/family-holidays/splash/
As melb says August will be VERY hot and its very easy to get burnt in a waterpark in low season never mind height of the summer. Also, the floors in waterparks get unbearably hot and are painful to walk on. Don't want to put you off but its worth mentioning!0 -
Melb, I've only ever taken the two eldest to Tunisia, Greneda and Nigeria, none of which were at a water park so thanks for the info.
Diddyangel thanks for link I'll have a look at this and will also change the date, not planning on making it an unbearable trip for the kids.0 -
I know at least one of your children will be at school but have you thought about maybe adding a few days onto the Whit holiday which is at the end of May beginning of June this year and going then. It would still be lovely and warm in spain for example but not so hot that you're having to seek the shade all the time. Mind you you sound much more of a seasoned traveller than i am!0

We stayed on site at the Portaventura theme park in Spain which gives free access to the on site water park. It was absolutely fabulous. We got free access to both theme park and water park, but we all loved the water park best.0

that's a possibility actually, didnt think of that. That way all the kids will be able to handle the heat.
Bargainbarmy, was is an inclusive package, dont really fancy cooking whilst out there or trying to figure out what to feed the kids daily:)0 -
If you can book separate flights and accommodation Club Mac in Alcudia, Majorca have deals that include the water park(Hidropark) over the road from it for free from May throughout the summer. Think the same deal is also with some of the tour operators if you can find a deal including their flights0

The suggestion to the park in salou is a good one I would second that as there is also lots for the kids to do in salou and you can also do day trips to barcelona/zoo etc. it won't be as hot as Turkey.0

stay in Albir or Altea near benidorm, and go to Aqualandia and mundo mar both very good you can take your own food as well, although it does get hot they have people coming round and spraying you with cool water,a bit strange at first but very welcome, also as you walk around mundo mar they have 'misters' that give out a constant cool water mist
some good info on accom/areas/and attractions can be had here, dont be put of by the thought of being close to Benidorm as it really is very good for kids especially the beaches

i used to take my 3 to water parks when they were little and they loved it.
Siam Park in Tenerife is good, also there's one on the outskirts of Lloret de mar, Gran Canaria has another good one and there's one in Ibiza too, lots to choose from - try googling water / aqua parks.
not forgetting Portadventura - theme park and water park - could spend days there:)0
