Driver & passenger car seats

It sounds like you might struggle to do it yourself if you can't lift the seats in and out of the car - though as has been said the job itself is quite simple for someone who can "strip a washing machine and a vacuum cleaner" - if you slide the seats backwards and forwards you should be able to see the few bolts that hold them in - as long as you get the right seats at the scrappy they should fit in quite easily, and there should be no safety concerns as long as you made sure they were tightly done up.
In your case, I would try to find a friend (even an elderly friend should manage if fairly mobile and able to lift a suitcase when going on holiday - the seats shouldn't be terribly heavy) who felt they could deal with the scrappy and pop them in for you, or perhaps you know a teenage boy with an interest in cars who could help you out, though supervision may be required and a bit of your common sense to ensure the job goes smoothly. (It really is that simple!)
Failing that, there might be a junior person at the scrappy who would be willing to fit them for you after hours for cash in hand - about a tenner is probably right, depending on whereabouts you are - in the south at twenty might be more appropriate.
If all else fails, get your regular garage to quote you for fitting them if you find them and bring them in- they may even know a scrappy they can get the bits from. If you are a regular customer, they may even offer to fit them for free / cheaply at the same time as you have the car in for other work/servicing, as it shouldn't take long for an experienced mechanic as long as there are no complications!
Ebay can sometimes be a good place to find parts, though for something big like seats you will probably need to collect them as postage would be too expensive, plus you would want to examine them for condition before paying.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
Depending on how luxurious(some seats have heavy electric motors in) the car is, a seat will usually weigh between 10-30kg or so which is 22-66lb in old money so due to their shape they can be awkard to fit.Technicly its simple to do but I guess yo udo need to be fairly strong/fit to do it, esecially if you don't want to scratch your paintwork getting them in/out.0

I highly doubt a 10yr old Peugeot will be rocking hefty automated seats
Just an observation

Peugeot 406 coupe might, they're not all 106's with deckchairs in the front.Besides, its an overview of what to expect to help the OP decide if they think they are up to the job.0

The OP is a lady.0 -
phone a scrapyeard - somehwere like Doncaster Motor Spares for instance - or google for car parts and you will probably find a scrap yard willing to take them out, if they havent already (if they are in decent condition)
Pick em up (if they are local) or they will send them to you
The get a local garage to fit them for youDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

I am not a mate. I am a lady.
I can strip a washing machine and a vacuum cleaner, but am concerned with the safety issues involved with doing things to my car. I would not know how to begin at a scrap merchant, I have movement issues negating heavy lifting, and my 'mates' are elderly.
I have asked a specific question that should have been answered with courtesy, not derision. Please note that if someone asks for advice it is for a good reason.
It may have been helpful if you had explained that in your OP.
You did say " I would like to change the passenger and driver's car seats etc. ", which implies to me that you wished to change them yourself.0 -

You are a rude and ignorant woman.0
