Thanks for that info Fluzz! How do you know that they did completely close your account in the end as opposed to just blocking it?0

I got an email from them confirming it had been done eventually and then I kept an eye on my experian account to make sure it swapped to "settled." I'm currently going through the same thing with Santander...0

Ah, okey doke... might try emailing them instead then so at least I'll have written confirmation. Thanks! Hope you get everything sorted with Santander too!0

Was set up for a Next credit account this afternoon without even knowing it! I wanted to buy a dress so added to basket and then it asked me to log in or register. Just assumed this was like every other online shopping cart, a necessity in order to buy from them. So I logged in, put in my address details etc etc. Next thing I know I have a credit account. It comes across as quite devious really as they don't make it clear what you're signing up for. Then it tells me the dress is on its way and I would get a statement when I needed to pay! Managed to speak to someone from customer service who apologised and said I could either cancel my order online through my account or have it delivered then send it back or buy it and then have my credit account "converted" to a cash one. No thanks! Cancelled my order online just now and the guy on the phone told me I could cancel my account online but I can't work out how. Does anyone know? What a debacle! It's put me off ordering anything through Next as it seems very underhanded. I don't buy anything on credit and only like to pay for things up front so I know where I am - don't like the idea of a Next credit account but I am now probably stuck with one.0

I am in totally the opposite boat to this, they gave me a measly £150 limit, had it for 2-3 months, then they took it off me one month, then gave me it back two weeks later, then took it back off me a month later, and as it stands I have a balance of £133 with no credit limit, however on their last update to CRA it states I have £150 limit, they are jokers! I told them I dont want the account if they are going to mess their customers around like this! :mad:0

I had this problem I opened an account was given a credit limit of £250.00. I placed an order and returned the item as it was too small. I checked my account last week and the credit limit was zero. Ive called them up to question it etc and i got put through to credit control department or what ever.
I asked what was going on and the woman said they have a new system now and customers who opened an account after a certain date have to go through some extra checks for fraud prevention. She asked me to verify some details from my credit report then she put the credit limit back on. I said im not gonna have to go through this drama every month am I and she no you wont have to now we have verified your details. :mad:Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
