  • I received an email from Tesco saying that for this month only they will pay 10 pounds per gm for old/broken gold.
I had quite a bit of odd stuff that had been lying around in a drawer for years, I had wanted to sell it for ages but did not trust any of the companies on tv as i had heard that they were messing people about with their quotes etc.
I have shopped with tesco for years and so trust them a little more that the other companies, so i went ahead and requested a gold pack, I weighed my gold before i sent it off at around 50/60g so i was expecting to receive about 500 pounds. I sent the gold back by next day special delivery which is paid for on Mon this week and by tuesday evening I had an email back with an offer for 670 pounds, i was very pleased with that so i have accepted this offer, which is paid within 1 day into your bank account.
I do understand that they will proberly make a profit out of it but if you are not going to wear to old jewellery again or get it fixed then you might as well get rid. I'm forty this year and the money will go towards something shiney and expensive.

i remember people started hating tesco for their expansion move on tesco express little stores...
Main issue was '' tesco is killing small shops by opening stores..killing competition...etc''
i loved it.. why should i buy a 25 day old banana/tomato/apple from a corner shop when everything at tesco likely to be cheaper and fresher
Plus.. thats about competition,, the succesfull one kills the other one... it always been this way .

Or buy it from a grocers and it tastes of something not plastic and it would have been at market that day not in storage until they have sold out.

I do somtimes buy supermarket fruit and Veg but there is no doubt they are not the best, they look nice but are rarely the best quality in terms of taste.

Tha majority of supermarket fruit is picked when not ripe.
