    I don't really agree with that article. 4GB of ram is a ridiculous amount. Even if you're a moderate gamer and play WoW for example you'll never get above 3gb.

    1gb isn't optimal, I'd go for 2 to be comfortable, but it'll run just fine.

    if the OP wants to edit photos then 3-4gb is required

    Legitimate copy you're probably better off selling the laptop and buying one with W7 preinstalled, it'll run you £100ish.

    Sorry if I wasn't clear enough on my previous post. My point is that for £35, he won't be getting a legitimate license.

    I'm too lazy to 'shop around' as it were but Amazon has a legit license listed as £130 for home premium. £165 incl "labour" (it really is very simple to DIY).

    For that you're best off selling the laptop and buying a new one with W7 preinstalled.
