New Phone
Hi Im wanting to purchase either an orange sanfrancisco £99, htc wildfire or a blackberry both £129. Ive heard about a sim only deal from Tesco which gives calls texts and internet use (dont know the precise details just now though) for £10 every month. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to which phone they think is the best and does anyone know of anyother sim deals around. I dont want to play games on it just mainly the internet. Thank you

If you want internet browsing, even as a BB user I'd have to say Wildfire. The only BB with anything like a decent screen size is the Torch, but then you're talking a lot more money than a Wildfire.0

I've been checking out smartphones. I want the phone and internet/emails and probably PAYG. Checked out lots of reviews of the San Francisco ZTE Blade from Orange. Sounds a doddle to unlock and has some good reviews for a budget phone. Have a look at Geekanoids on Youtube. Ebay is selling for a lot more than Orange. Sorry can't help with the other queries but I'm so peed off with Tesco taking over the world I wouldn't give them the time of day !I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

Look at Giffgaff sims. Their prices are very competitive, specially if you use one of their goodybags0

+1 on the above. Son bought an Orange San Francisco, unlocked it and with a payment of £10pm to GiffGaff (runs on 02 network) gets 150 minutes calls (currently boosted to 250), unlimited texts and unlimited internet, there is no FUP in place and it is truly unlimited!0

As a proud owner of the Wildfire, for Internet its the next best thing. I am on O2 PayG, for £15 a Month (although there is a £10 PM option) I get unlimited O2 calls and Texts.
If I use the Internet via Wifi its obviously FREE, but switching to Modem (phone setting) it costs me £1 a day with unlimited downloads. For those with Wildfire phones I should mention they have just released the updated firmware in the UK, you can upgrade the phone in the settings menu.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Are you comparing the BB Curve against Wildfire? Wildfire has the same screen definition as the BB Bold... so would they be the same for internet browsing? I know there is touchscreen too, but it doesn't get any clearer on a Wildfire does it? :think:0 -
the orange SF is a much better phone than the wildfire IMO, it has a much bigger screen with a significantly higher screen res (480×800 compared to the wildfires frankly rubbish 240x320)
the SF also has a higher CPU and much more RAM, even the fact the orange SF comes with a more stock version of android is much better.
yes the htc has a higher MP camera and a flash but htc has nowhere near nailed the camera quality yet.
all in all if you physically go use them both the simple factor of just how pixelated the screen is on the wildfire is a total turn off.
as for the BB you have to pay for special BB internet so that will likely rule out the tesco deal.0 -
