The first anniversary of my installation has just passed :j (Wow, that year went quickly! :D)

2388 kWh generated, just over 123% of prediction.
£729.74 received in FIT payments for first 3 quarters, with a further £314.85 worth earned so far this quarter (with a further 17 days to go until the quarter's end)
Total FITs earned in year one equals approx 9% of installation cost.

Fingers crossed that year two is as productive!:T
2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shading
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end
    MFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
    2021 £1250.00, 2022 £1500.00, 2023 £1500, 2024 £1350
    2025 target = £1200, YTD £9190

  • hi i am new to this solar buisness ,rent a roof , i have looked through your ideas and tips for useing the free electric ,my plan for using a part of what i generate ,(i know there are problems as to how you can make sure that you dont go over and therefore end up spending more money )involves lowering the wattage of your immersion heater most buy a 1kw heater and retro fit it to tank , i have aquired a 110v transformer the sort you would get from builders , running my 3kw immersion via 110v transformer it uses 800w and has the desired effect of spreading the load of heating , only cost is transformer which i had free ,
next step is to link this switch to an adjustable photocell , hopefully it will provide an efficient hot water heater in summer

    maybe
  • Just heard Ch4 news talking about a 50% reduction in FIT payments. Anyone know the ins-and-outs?
    3.9kWp solar PV installed 21 Sept 2011, due S and 42° roof.
17,011kWh generated as at 30 September 2016 - system has now paid for itself.

  • This is all I've found so far, which isn't really what Ch4 were saying but looks much more sensible.

So this system allows us to view what our panels are generating via the internet from anywhere by logging into their system?

This is free for the first year?

Then it costs £1.99 per month?

Presumably you can use it as a "personal display" just in the home without paying the monthly fee?

There is no monthly fee as far as I know.

There seems to be after the first year if you want internet access. Something in the Ts&Cs when you purchase?

OH spotted it, must ask him again.

Well I asked them the specific question and I have the email from them saying no monthly charge, so I hope they were not telling porkies.

    worth checking again I think

it looks good, but a £2 per month fee after the free year is not so attractive.
