Thanks Mart:)
So it would work this way even if I switch to a different electric company? What I'd like to do is keep my FIT payments through British Gas but change to a cheaper electricity supplier.0 -

That's no problem at all. You could - if you wanted - switch the FIT contract as well but there's no great advantage to doing that apart from the possibility that some companies pay faster than others.
I'm not sure whether this is still possible. When I installed last autumn all the utility companies refused to deal with me, and told me I had to go with my current electricity provider. Only if my electric company wasn't set up for FIT contracts would they accept and application. Fortunately I'm with Eon who have been excellent.Install 28th Nov 15, 3.3kW, (11x300LG), SolarEdge, SW. As others have said that is fine. When we had the panels installed last August we were with EDF, so get our FIT payments through them (very promptly) so have no intention of changing from them.
However, since getting the panels our electric consumption (and gas) reduced significantly, so we found it was better to switch to tariffs with lower standing charges. We are now with E.on for Electric and Zog for Gas as we found that they have the best tariffs for our new level of consumption.0 -

Just to confirm Exiled Tyke. We're currently only offering to support Feed-in-Tariffs for existing E.ON customers or if their present supplier isn't a mandatory FIT Licensee (as listed on Ofgem's website under Registered FIT Licensed Suppliers). We can, though, support if not connected to the National Grid. We made this change a couple of years back but it doesn't affect customers with us before this time.
This is what we do Exiled Tyke. Don't know about the other suppliers. Glad you've been happy with our service. Thanks for that. I'll pass it on to our FIT team. Have a good evening.

I have a 600w kettle which takes 210 seconds to boil 500ml of water.
Bit of a wait but allows me to use free leccy.4kWp, South facing, 16 x phono solar panels, Solis inverter, Lincolnshire.0 -
My 2.5Kw system was installed late in 2012 and I am on the highest tariff. I've recently been quoted by 2 companies to retrofit Solar Edge equipment to bring it up to latest standards but is it worth it?
My panels face SSW on the south coast and have no shading.
My installer gave a 10 year guarantee on equipment and 25 year guarantee on efficiency and crucially, a 10 year guarantee on returns which they have already honoured in the 2nd year when the inverter malfunctioned.
I may be missing something but I cannot see any reason to upgrade at the moment.
Any advice would be welcome.
