So now I have a solar PV system how do I make the most of it???

it seems zuepater's and graham's "thrusts" have been to discredit my owl photos.
so I'm now showing Amp readings, even they can't argue with them
or can they?
please explain what voltage i should apply to my owl monitor (you do want to "help" everyone) to give a correct power reading, for everyone to understand...zuepater, as you have stated you know much more than me....0 -
you have it set at 250V but underreading at 1.7kW, that needs to be investigated more.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

Z, please stop going down this route.
My understanding is that you think the voltage of the Owl should be set to match PV (around 250+V) to 'better' match the 'real' output.
Whereas Don (with the Owl set at 230V) is already getting a small over-reading (perhaps 5%), so increasing the voltage setting will further increase the error and make use of the monitor, solely for real time decisions, less useful.
The fact that Don doesn't agree with you, does not mean you have to keep calling him a Troll. He hasn't called you a Troll because you don't agree with him, has he?
Others have commented on the error margin that the Owl has (and I believe all clamp type devices have). And Don has to set his up best to work within those tolerances.
If you keep down this road, you're going to begin to sound like Graham soon. Anyone who disagrees with him is a PV lobbyist, or an anti nuke green, or an out of work PV installer. Some of us simply have a different opinion, is this not allowed? It hardly makes us spammers or Trolls.
As the great American philosopher J. Nicholson once said; "Can't we all just get along?"

This January has been exceptionally good, I'm already at 164kwh produced for this month and it's not over yet.
My current FIT's quarter ends on 4th February and by tomorrow I'll be due £200 even if it only turns out to be a 'couple of kwh' day
No fair, can you lend me some kWh's, I'm good for it, honest!
Actually I'm really surprised that my system is spot on target for Jan. This warm grey weather has been giving me 0.5's and 1's, with occasional 4's and 5's when cold and sunny. Would have done exceptionally well if cold and blue skies all month.
However, not grumbling, used hardly any gas (compared to last year) and saved money and CO2, so swings and roundabouts me thinks.

What's happened to you Don? I've done 11.5kwh here today
Already 10kwh over the January climate pvgis figure and still 3 days to go :TMartyn1981 wrote: »Ha ha Don, how the mighty have fallen!!!!This January has been exceptionally good, I'm already at 164kwh produced for this month and it's not over yet.

the battle may be lost, but not the war!
as of yesterday, 173.5kWh for the month so far0 -
We've already generated 124% of our target/predicted in January, with 3 days still to go (horribly grey here today though)
Only managed 97% of target last January.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
