Sky Broadband plus a few other points

Hi Guys
Please forgive me for any faux pas's as this is my first post but i would love people's help and opinions on a few topics.
Firstly we are currently subscribed to all the Sky TV channels, with AOL broadband and BT for our phone line. We have heard very good things about Sky broadband so we are thinking of making the move across and get everything done through Sky, is this a good idea?
Secondly i have heard that Sky are normally quite generous if you ask for stuff (This might be total rubbish!) but we are also thinking of getting Multi Room. Is there any tactic or method to use with Sky to try and get them to do us a deal on everything?
Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated!!!

First of all I really wouldnt take your line away from BT, i think its only about 50p to a £1 a month more expensive with BT but if you take it to SKY and want to go elswhere in time, BT will cost charge you a fortune to take you back again.
You can get free broadband (up to 5meg) and Skytalk (freetelephone calls evening (after 7pm) and all weekends) there is a next band up with SKY for a faster broadband but I cant remember how much it is
Youre right, they are quite generous, not too long ago i called to cancel multi room and they gave me 6 months half price SKY saying i could cancel Multiroom at the end of the 6 months if I still wanted to.
Ring them up and haggle, tell them you are only THINKING about more services, let them think they have talked you into it.:D
Let us know how you get on.
Does ~Anyone on here have a freephone number on here for SKY instead of the 0844 number.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks for the advice, i was using the school of thought that Sky would be in more of a giving mood if i went to them for everything!!
Was there any reason you wanted to cancel Multi Room or was it just a cost thing?0 -
I told them it was a cost thing, but in actual fact my daughter was moving out so it wasnt needed but they gave me twice as much back as i would have saved getting it taken out, they offered so i grabbed it with both hands.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Are you talking about Sky Connect or Sky LLU? Very diiffferent products.
Don't even think about using the former. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I had sky broadband and phoneline which after 2 days never worked I had several engineers visit all tried and failed to get a connection the phone line was appalling you couldnt hear anybody on the other side then it would cut out for days on end. Sky kept on telling me to e-mail them but as the broadband was rubbish it was impossible finally got rid of them both and went back to virgin Im not saying they are the cheapest but for me they were the best and now im not going to move again0

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the advice and help. As i thought Sky were completely unhelpful! As i didn't want to risk cancelling my Sky they never really offered me anything except for trying to convince me to take Sky Talk. Looks like its a basic shootout between AOL's slower and less reliable £6.99 service or Sky's apparenlty quicker and more reliable service for £12.50!0
