Power cut in kitchen

Sounds like a problem with a faulty appliance or dodgy wiring in the kitchen. Does it happen at any particular time (i.e when a certain appliance is running?)
If you can't pin it down to a certain appliance, may be worth getting a sparky in to check it out.0 -
It does seem to happen when the central heating is on via the boiler, thats a guess though?0

Unplug everything you can in the kitchen and try it with just lights.
Then try switching on one appliance at a time.0 -
do u have spotlights? inside the light, the wiring could be burnt.0

Ours just went today, you have to turn the power off and take the whole light out and look at wire behind it,if its burned, it will need replacing. We have Homeserve so someone came out and repaired it. About three years ago electrician said the design changed and by law the back of the light has to have a dome on it to stop wires being burned. But, if you don't like electricity, get someone in.!!0

Well I kept the spotlights off and the power went again. The boiler is off, microwave and oven too. There was also a spark at my main fuse box so I've just kept it off, please advise??0

post 4 gave very good advice. my hubby is a sparks and often gets emergancy calls out for similar. problems.
if in any doubt whatsoever call someone out. never touch electrics if you not sure what your doing.0 -
You really need to have everything unplugged and switched off - lights, fridge, freezer etc.
Then turn on lights, if still OK then one appliance at a time until the fault shows up.0
