Can anyone help?

Just recently moved & My whole flat is run on electric pre pay key & the heating is all by storage heater which is costing me £££££s  a day to keep warm. I have a little 800w halogen heater that I put on when turn storage heater off but it doesn't keep the room warm. What is the best heater I can buy on a budget that will keep my room warm that will not suck up all my electric credit? also does anyone know if Esso still do gas bottles?

Any help is much appreciated as I sit here getting cold :(

Do you work? If you are out all day then turn the storage heating off. How much electric in kwh do you actually use. It's been quite cold lately and it does cost several pounds per day to run a flat. If it's about £5 then it's about right. The halogen will keep you warm but isn't any good at heating the space. Get a convector at 2000w or a oil filled radiator but they are rated from 800W to 2500W which in both cases is more powerful than your halogen so could cost more if you didn't turn them down when you are warmed through.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

1st of all make sure you are not paying the last people's debt on the meter
2nd make sure you have got e7 on the meter
3rd make sure the timer switch is set right as the heating shouldn't come on till between 11pm and 12 am and off again between 6am and 7am
4th as for esso some do some don't

All heaters use same amount of energy at given rating, the only difference is how it heats up etc

Shame you dont have gas as its 2/3rd cheaper to heat with gas than electric

Using a pre paid option isnt the best way to get a good deal on energy either
