Might be more helpful if the title was clearer, I personally took it as a free upgrade regardless, hence the wasted click thru (for me), however it may prove to be a cheap purchase of vista - again i don't know the rrp of vista.

And you wasted all of what? 10 seconds?
You should know better than MS giving the users something free..
Which takes me to the second point I would like to make.. I read somewhere that this "free" upgrade cost in the region of £50 once you pay for postage and packaging.. So not really free after all.. But I might be wrong.0 -

The upgrade from Home is not free, it's costs $50 or so.
The upgrade from Pro IS FREE ! +handling, etc...0 -
