My connection keeps disconnecting, ive replaced the filters but still no luck.

Im using a usb modem, i have been sent a Ethernet Modem to try but am unable to get this working despite calls to Pipex Tech Support.

Anyone else having problems with Pipex?

Are you connected directly to your master socket or an extension?

If you have wired extensions, unscrew the faceplate from your master socket and connect via the test socket, as shown below and see if things improve.

Can you log on to your router and post its line statistics.

If you post the make and model I'll google for the appropriate method.

USB modems are effectively obsolete, and flakey even when they do function. You need to get set up with the ethernet router, so please post the necessary info for help to be given (starting with make and model).
Do you have filters on all active extensions (this includes any Sky boxes)?

I have a Speedtouch Ethernet Modem ST510 v6, the internet green light doesnt come on, tho its shown as connected on my connections on my pc.

I was thinking of buying a Wireless Router as i have an extension lead from the main socket, maybe less leads will improve the connection.

Phone extension leads (especially cheapo shed-purchased trailing ones)are notorious for dropping connections, they're usually little better than bell wire. Retest with a short temporary connection direct to your BT test socket and see if it improves.

    From the Kitz site:-

    From the web interface try

    http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/dsl/dt/?ce=1&be=0&l0=1&l1=0

    or

From the routers IP address which is usually http://192.168.1.254
    Broadband Connection >
    DSL Connection >
    Details.
Default User Name = Administrator , Password = blank or Serial No from underneath the router
    Note:-
Some of the above speedtouch routers may well have problems if you try changing the default password and it will appear to lock you out or give you and error message "HTTP/1.0 401 Authorization Required". In actual fact this is an authentication problem within IE7 - try using a different browser to change the password.
