I think the main problem here is that all these forum categories don't actually have a proper description:

Grabbit, shop but dont drop, i wanna buy it do it. etc etc

The forum is quite poorly set out in my opinion.
'Shopping' should have its own section.
Then each of these sub forums should have a proper clear description on each about what you are expected to post, etc.

For example, the grabbit forum just has one message at the top which you need to click on to read (which no one notices) saying not to post codes etc.
How is a new user supposed to notice this really?

Its quite easy to snap at someone for posting something incorrectly.
But isn't it the forums' fault for not being clear to new users?
For example: the first time you post there could be a 'pop up' that says:

'Before starting a new thread: Please check by doing a forum search that one similar hasnt already recently been started' , etc

Ive been thinking this for too long and am surprised no-one else really brings it up.

Thankyou for posting this-my thoughts exactly! I just thought a 75% saving in boots would be classed as a grabbit. I did do a search but nothing about the 75% off sale came up. I think you need a thick skin for this forum-i rarely post but when i do there is always some unfriendly response.

Sometimes I'm surprised newbies don't run a mile! I can't see it's such a big deal if someone posts in the Wrong Section? Just ignore the post, or leave it for the mods to remove.

We're not all unfriendly mickeymad and we can still remember what it's like to be a newbie. Welcome, and you can be sure if there's any news about the sale, reliable or rumoured, then Grabbit will be red hot!

    xx

Thankyou-it doesnt bother me and tbh there are always more folk wanting to help than be sarky. I think the problem is a lot of people hide behind a computer-they probably wouldnt say boo to a goose face to face.

Hi :), in 2009 it was on Wednesday 14th January, and the 90% sale was 2 weeks later. In 2010 it was supposed to be on Wednesday 13th January, but because of bad weather, it was delayed until the 20th.

So, it may well be on Wednesday 12th January - but it may not! Having trawled around a fair few branches in London and the Home Counties, I reckon you'll be very very pleased with the stock available. :T

That is, if you want the Gok set, the Fearne Cotton set, or the Strictly Come Dancing set! These are all make-up sets. HTH

    xx
I didnt realise it also went to 90% off as well, dont suppose much is left by then, am waiting for the 75% off now to get pressies for teachers etc.

OP dont worry about the posts, dont see what the problem is really certainly dont see the need to reply with negative responses to a valid question, does it really matter in the great scheme of things if someone posted incorrectly. ;)
  • Agreed.just ignore the morans. I'm sorry, but if all they have to moan about is a incorrect or what they pecieve as an unsuitable post in a wrong section then it's them that need a reality check.

This is a bargain forum. Post your bargains, possible bargains, questions or gossip. If it's in the wrong forum the mods will clean it up.

We are all here for ONE reason, let's not forget that!

The 75% off boots sale is the one of the biggest grabbits of the year, for me personally, so I am very grateful when this is discussed on the grabbit board.

There is a block poster facility.... 'tis all I'm saying, and you tend not to miss anything of any importance once the snipers are blocked :)
