Im burning to cd some albums i bought off amazon and 1 of the albums is 20 tracks which means its bigger than the disc im using, disc is 0 minutes and the tracks are 84 minutes in total. Can i compress the 20 tracks to fit on the disc or is there a program that will compress and burn at same time, im using cd burner xp

you can overburn a cd, but i think you'll get about 82-83 mins that way. Have a look for 100min cd's, guaranteed to fit then0

A standard CDR will hold 700meg; that's 80 minutes of data in the format a standard CD player will read, so if you want it to play on your hi-fi, you're stuck with that.
Overburning can get to 84 minutes at a push, but compatibility becomes a problem.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

well its for use in the car mainly, maybe the odd occaison in the hifi so would a 100 mnute cd work in a car stereo then,
might think about it as i dont want to buy any and find it cant be read

I haven't used CDBurner since moving to Win7, but if memory serves it will have a go at overburning for you as follows; when you're prompted about there being too much data for the disk, there should be a little drop-down beside the "eject" button - that gives you the overburn feature.
Give it a go - it'll only cost you a CD.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

Fitting a quart into a pint pot?! ;-)
I think you'll hit compatibility problems very quickly - perhaps leave out the dud track you get on every album and you'll be a lot surer ;-)0 -

besides leaving out a track, you could also try removing the 2 second gap between tracks, every little bit helpsUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

At the risk of being too obvious - will the player handle MP3-encoded tracks?0

DCFC79 - take out or shorten [ editor ] the silent spaces between tracks see if you can save 4 mins, alternatively recompile it with your least favourite track missing.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
