i am new to the comping threads and am inspired by everyones wins.
i just want to ask a couple of questions: do you put your right telephone number on the competition entries and if are asked to subscribe to emails if you tick NO are you likely not to win or will this not matter?
If you don't put your right telephone number how can they ring you up to tell you if you have won? You can put my phone number if you like:rotfl:
If you are worried about getting spammy phone calls, then you could buy a cheap PAYG mobile and use that number then you will know it can only be from comping.
Hopefully, it should not matter if you tick the 'no' box to emails, but cannot really prove this.0 -

i use a spare moby especially for comping,
there's a comping guide on here that'll answer majority of your questions like
"and if are asked to subscribe to emails if you tick NO are you likely not to win or will this not matter"

11 If you opt in or out of their mailing / 3rd party mailings, does it affect your chances?
I ALWAYS indicate a big fat 'no' to both of those, unless it is something that I'd really like to hear more about or a comp you enter by signing up for their newsletter.
It should make no difference to whether you are included in the comp or not, although some smaller companies may break the rules. I have to say I’ve been really lucky with wins & it seems to have made no difference whatsoever to my chances by always opting out where I can. It just means that I end up with less spam & on less junk mail lists.please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
On the i've won thread i've noticed people have had missed calls which they have phoned back to find out that they have actually wo something. I've never done this. I've always presumed that they'd leave a message. But in future would it actually be better to ring back. Or are these few and far between??0

If I get any missed calls, I usually try googling the number and see what that throws up.0

You've just solved a long running problem I've had with FF and saved my sanity! I've been having to shut down and restart FF every hour or so for months, I thought I'd solved it by going back a version but the hanging and crashing prob came back, this Add-on is genius and so are you!!! :iloveyou:
[QUOTE=Amilucky?;
download and install the Firefox addon "AFOM - Memory Recovery & Retention For Firefox" from here
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11922/ this will help to stop your browser from crashing when loading multiple tabs by constantly recovering memory
Best of Luck[/QUOTE]
Yayyy thanks so much from me too

I had a call from an unknown number earlier...it was asking if I had received my mercedes benz brochure (which I haven't)! Must be related to a comp because I wouldn't randomly request a brochure!:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0
