HI
I enter between 20 and 40 comps a day and I have won 4 small things over the past year (2 books, a tshirt and some crisps!) - its all purely luck I promise!
Before I started comping I would enter the odd newspaper competition, maybe one every 6 months and won a few prizes gig tickets, and my biggest win - a cookery course, so I really do think its just down to luck
I have used a gmail account and a work email address and have won with both.
Dont worry our big wins are out there somewhere!0 -
I also use gmail, now a little worried as i entered over 200 email comps with not one win
Think i will give serious consideration to changing my email providor.

You'll win eventually, it's all about numbers and quality.
Numbers is self explainatory..more you enter, the better your odds. This works better on twitter and FB than other comps though...example: Find comps that award prizes at 100 likes or followers and you're 100/1 max to be picked, do 100 and it's evens. You can do this in a week easily if you keep your eyes peeled and have as many connections on FB and twitter a poss from here. Another example, tagging comps on FB...I just saw one shared by a friend, tagged the pic, limit for tags is 50, number of pics= 4 (but sometimes just one)...so that's 200/1 to win somemthing. 2 seconds to enter.
Comps that are run in mainstream places like The Sun, they attract huge numbers but if you're around in the day or early AM they can pay too...everyone's at work and can't enter things like the houly Ipad one recently.
Any comp at all with hourly or daily prizes always has it's fair share of MSE names in the list of winners...because we all help each other.
I think the little prizes on twitter and FB keep the spirits up and the bigger prizes are much rarer but come eventually ...the little stuff keeps the spirits up and the postie busy
See my sig here...tell me that's not true even if the odds matter they aren't everything.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Can't you set up an email address with you ISP just for comps? I've always had one for personal, one for work and one for comps. I can have up to 200 and most ISPs allow mulitple emails for family use, they don't expect you all to use one account lol.
I wouldn't use comps@ or anything though...looks too professional comperishHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
