Let me join toooooo...please!!
Just managed to get rid of my debt after 5 years of not wanting to know what's going on but managed eventually with lots of hard work and this wonderful site to clear £3000 within the last 9 month:j !! Yep!! And now I'm starting to save for a deposit which will take me 1-2 years....oh dear, that sounds like a long time:eek: But looking at current deals for 100% mortgages and I'm starting to faint:mad: So it would be great to join you all to keep on track with my savings!! I managed to put £165 into my cash ISA and got a cheque-back from my mobile company over £78 this month-starting smallI think I could save maximum £500 a month and maybe a bit more if I'm a good girl..... I'm still with NATWEST at the moment but thinking of changing next month (A&L?) to make the most of my money. Also started buying Premium Bons for £125 last month....you never know....:o
Good luck to all the savers out there- we will get there eventually together!!

Well with January over how did everyone do in their first month? Can't believe I've managed my bronze already but don't think I'll do as well this month as I had Christmas money to put into January's total. Hoping to sell some CDs and books to help top up this month. Already have sold my Boots voucher from Pigsback.
Out of interest where do you think you waste money? I was horrified to find out how much I used to spend on magazines in a month and now subscribe to just one a month. Tip - if you buy the same magazine every month subscribe to it as you will generally get a discount and/or a gift for subscribing. Anyone else have any tips?MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

With regard to magazines my wife has a subscription and she saves money that way and then has an arrangement with her friends where they swop magazines. This really keeps the costs down.
I am usually very good, but I have slipped into buying my lunch at work and this proves expensive over the week - probably between £20 and £25 a week on food... whereas taking sandwiches is probably around £5 to £7 a week.0 -

As I work in Advertising I contact the magazines direct and ask to be put on their mail out list. You then get them for Free!!!
I do subscribe to Moneywise, I find it's the only magazine, aside from Good Housekeeping, that I read from cover 2 cover. It is easy to understand and gives loads of tips. Martin also writes in this magazine.HOW MUCH CAN YOU SAVE?: OLYMPIC CHALLENGE 2008BRONZE 10% SILVER 25% GOLD 50% PLATINUM 75%'Don't Stop me now, I'm cooking on Gas!' - Peggy Ollerenshaw - Hi-De-Hi!0 -

I subscribe to MoneyWise magazine too, it's very good. I got the first 3 issues free, as Martin was promoting it here on MSE and had secured a good deal.
On their website right now you can get your first 3 issues for £1, then pay £18 DD every 6 months. So your first 3 would only be £0.33p each, which is a great trial price.
Cover price per issue is £3.95 I believe, so subscribing (with the 1st 3 issues for £1) is a considerable saving.
Plus then you can do it on your cashback credit card
It usually hits my doorstep on 28th of the month or so, for the month ahead.MFW #185

Hi Eagerlearner,
I orginally joined when Martin was promoting. I got a free issue via this site and loved it, then I called them for the best deal for subscribing.
They gave me my first 3 issues free.

What kind of mags have you found this works with? I only get work-related ones (marketing and IT) but have never tried with anything else!
