    Jealousy ;)

    haha I wouldn't be surprised.

I was always under the impression that everyone saved their money but in the last few years i've noticed a lot of my friends are still throwing their money down the drain on all sorts of things and they are about 22/23 years old and don't have a penny to their names OUCH.

Makes me feel better inside though. Even though people have said to me that "You may get hit down by a bus tomorrow and what's the point in saving"

Wow! Those savings are pretty impressive! :T

If you save like you are doing, you'll get your house deposit quickly enough!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I saved up £7,000 last year and it would of been £12,000 if it weren't for my gambling addiction! Luckily, I have learnt the value of money and will never be such an idiot again. I also enter loads of online competitions and usually sell the prizes that I win on eBay to get a bit more money.:D So I think if I manage to save £12,000 this year, I'll be very pleased.:T

If I had been saving since I started working I would definately have a house by now. I wasted mine for years :( Not anymore - I'm a money saving/making machine :)
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

I don't allow myself to think about all the money I could have saved but didn't – it's far too depressing! LOL! Instead I concentrate on what I am saving now.

I have always been ok-ish at saving but have real trouble getting past a particular (not to mention fairly low!) figure – once I reach it I sort of feel more secure about having something saved and end up either not saving any more or spending the little I have saved! :o So I've set myself a big old target to inspire me to get past my "savings block" figure once and for all! Does that make any sense at all?! LOL!

I get that all the time. They are the people who have very little!

To those people I'd be inclined to say "well in the current climate you've got more chance of losing your job tomorrow, in which case I'm quite happy to have savings!"

A bit harsh I know but you soon tire of people making snide comments about your savings! :p

Other than a couple of hundred pounds in my natwest piggy account when I was a child it has all been saved by me. :)

    Thanks for your comment! :D
  • Excellent. It's nice to be able to actually talk to people about money matters for once without the conversation ending in some dumb comment about getting hit down by a bus :-)

I know some people have only saved a few quid and some people have many hundreds of thousands but we are all in the same boat and want to secure our future, and we have great minds to really understand the value of money to put us in a great position in the long term, which is great.

Thanks everyone. I find this very inspiring and feel very positive.

    Have a good evening.
