It flew in, had a fly around and left. I didn't know what it was - will be prepared next time!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

GG I see you have a fitbit, could you do ma a huge favour and wear it on your ankle one day and see if it works? Working in the hospital we are not allowed to wear watches etc and I quite fancied a fitbit but couldnt justify buying one if I cant even wear it, was wondering if it was possible to wear on the ankle
Sorry to be a pest
Elentan if you get the fitbit one it's a clip on and you can clip it to your bra, waistband etc so it's hidden. I didn't fancy the convict look either!0 -
Hi GG
I've spent a couple of hours this afternoon catching up on your adventures and wanted to say :T:T:T massive congratulations :T:T:T
You are a bit of an inspiration in our house as our ultimate dream is to retire early to the south of France (not the expensive fashionable bit). DH keeps asking how you're getting on so I've given him the latest details. He loves insects and spends ages identifying terrifying wasps in hot countries
Hope your ankle is feeling better. Please keep posting as I love reading about it all and dreaming of the future

. The 'dream' is a bit of a nightmare at the mo as we have a 40 degree heatwave  - or should I say  :rotfl:. With no car (Little Blue Car coming home tomorrow :j) and communal pool out of action till new pump fitted the timing hasn't been great. We did go down to the beach on the bus late yesterday, but it was a bit rocky (we don't know the main beaches at all as we go to beaches elsewhere). Still, a nice swim in the sea and also at a pool at a restaurant on Sunday - walked straight in both times which I never do, so goes to show how hot even the water is! Getting a ceiling fan fitted as well which should help - supposedly better than floor fan/air con combos.

Yes, 40 degrees is a bit much. That would be headache time for me:( Hope the pool is fixed soon!
It's a much more pleasant 25 degrees today in our current 'dream location'. Not that I have it saved on my weather app or anything"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015

On my one and only Med. beach holiday I realised I'd gone swimming about six times a day, it was fantastic

Nope, I always stick to the straight and narrow
Hmmm - PM wasn't even there and, folks, she has hit on the more accurate assessment of GG meandering back from the pub. Funny that .....then again I have always advised about GG's poetic licence.
Hope everyone is well.0 -
Ouch. 40 isn't fun. Despite the rest of the UK sweltering, we have about 13C and light rain up here, which means midges galore. The horses are most unimpressed.0
