Ooh I want to join the celebrity spotting game. My most famous was literally running into Bruce Willis in Central Park while visiting NYC. I was so embarrassed as I was totally not looking where I was going and he was on the phone and when I realised who I had collided with I almost fell over. However I imagine that's too famous for you GG.
I'm usually rubbish at recognising people and when I was walking from my office to the bus stop I saw someone I recognised so waved and said hi but couldn't remember what her name was (I move jobs a lot as a contractor and often forget names of people I've worked with in the past). However once I got on the bus I suddenly realised the reason I recognised her is because she was on EastEnders. I've no idea what her real name is but she was Dexter's mum on the show and the child Cora gave up for adoption (for those that watch the show).Starting Mortgage Balance: £264,800 (8th Aug 2014)
Current Mortgage Balance: £269,750 (18th April 2016)0 -
When I thought I'd beaten my flying phobia, back in the 1990s, I flew up to Glasgow for the day from the south of England: there was a one day Babylon 5 convention on, and if I chickened out of the flight home, I could buy an overnight train ticket (I used to be really well off :rotfl:). So I got to Glasgow Airport at 9am, pleased as punch with myself, and found the star of the convention sitting on a settee in the Arrivals Lounge, waiting to be picked up by the convention organisers :j:j:j I'd seen him the previous day, at a London one day convention, so he recognised me and I sat down with him and chatted, telling him all about my phobia thing, and how I was using the con to beat it. Then in the autograph line, I asked him to sign my boarding pass
He was lovely. Name of Michael O'Hare, he played the commander of Babylon 5 in the first season. Not too famous, but friends knew him :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I don't think I can top KarmaCats celeb spot. Went to a back stage party at a Lou Reid concert once? Do I get points for that?
My rock and roll years :rotfl:Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
I used to know someone who once vomited over Andrea Corr at an awards after party....?0

When I was twelve I was on 'why don't you turn off the TV and go and do something more interesting instead'. Does anyone remember it? Saturday morning TV programme about hobbies.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

Love the celeb spotting game!
I think this one might be too famous - Arnold Schwarzenegger in Planet Hollywood, New York.
So I'll submit this entry to the game - actor Nicholas Ball, who starred in the '70's series 'Hazell', seen on the Kings Road, London.
Do I get any points for going to the same school as Russell Brand? Although I was there 15 years earlier than him.
At my previous, previous job we had a version of this game, called 'spot the famous mortgage customer'. We had a huge range of prominent actors, sportsmen and politicians. I'd like to name drop, but I'm sure it'd be some sort of Data Protection issue!Early retired - 18th December 2014
