On other diaries we've been talking about a board for financial independence so I've put a request in - feel free to support (or diss if you think I'm talking nonsense again :rotfl:)

Hi all
This is a yes
We can't set it up right now but when we do it'll probably be an "Early Retirement" sub-board of the Pensions board.
Meanwhile if one of you would like to set up a thread on the Pensions board titled "threads we think could be moved to the Early retirement board" then post links in the thread so we can look at them and decide when we set it up that would be a huge helpI've set up a thread as requested on the Pensions Board:

If anyone has any suggestions or want to move themselves.

Gally, welcome home  and :coffee: for you and Mr Gally
I'm glad the reindeers have visited and all, and having read how tight your schedule is, I'm doubly grateful that you posted such a detailed response on my thread :kisses3:
And then I saw Andrea's response to your/our request!

It's causing some tension - shall we go and TP the pensions board GG? :rotfl:0 -
Just had a look. They don't seem very keen. I think I will just stay over here with nice friendly people who don't mind me waffling on about saving a few pennies here and there without involving the FTSE index.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

This sort of thing happens to me at work all the time. Suggest something innocuous and helpful, cause an accidental stooshie!
The commentators going about OPing do have a point though, there are too few diaries on this board that take a balanced view.0 -

Doesn't happen at my work Ed, no-one ever suggests anything helpful :rotfl:.The commentators going about OPing do have a point though, there are too few diaries on this board that take a balanced view.
I agree Ed, but many others do it as just one part of their strategy (or in my case bumble along and hope it turns out ok :rotfl:) - we just don't always talk about it as it doesn't seem appropriate.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
