Can the 3 of you who are watching my MB stuff stop please? I promise I will tell you how much it goes for :rotfl:.

So, trying to simplify my finances is getting more confusing :o. Santander 123 for own personal account. Will operate it as normal so minimal interest on balance, making around £50 a year on cashback on bills. Quite straightforward.

Nationwide trickier. New account has 5% interest for 1 year for balances up to £2500. Makes sense to keep as close to 2.5% as possible and get £125 interest a year. That means stop using it as a holding account and transfer straight in & out of offset wherever possible - at the moment all Tillytidies etc go into NW and sit and wait their fate (absorbed into bills, sent to own mortgage offset or go as an OP on btl). In Feb there were 32 payments in and 17 out so needs simplified, especially as new DD's only started on 1st March .

At least there are accounts paying reasonable interest, albeit with restrictions, so that is good as savings rates are :eek::eek:.

Remember the nwide one is £100 after tax ... Still handy though, and you also have to filter through £1k a month to get the interest ... But it does also have a free overdraft if that's of any use :)

Forgot to take off the tax, silly of me as I thought it was a bit cheeky of them when I saw it was gross :o.

There's plenty money going through there and that will continue - what I will be stopping is the Tillytidies and small quidco payments - they'll go straight to the offset instead.

4 watchers now - bog off the lot of you :rotfl:.

    Hi Gally

Thanks for the Nationwide Flex 5% tip off. Just been reading up about it and there is also an article in the Daily M@il about it today too.

From also looking at the Budget/Bank Accounts forum on it looks like there's a bit of a toodoo going on re how many of the accounts you can have e.g. the T&C's say one but when people are ringing they say Nationw1de are saying you can have up to 5. I wonder what the real answer is as if you can have 5 no doubt they might try and close this loophole fairly quickly?

    Regards

I wonder that as well ATT but it's a bit academic as I can't even open one at the mo - they have moved me to Mr GG's address and I need them to process my 'move' back before they can proceed :(. Decided if I can I will open in addition to existing, build up to 2.5k asap then just bung 1k in and out each month.

We had one before the offer came about tbh we will struggle to fill that one as well so were gonna leave it at the one only ... But there was a rumour that they are producing another good saving account deal next week
