Karrimor cheapos - happy to trade up if I do wear them a bit though. But I don't think I'll go for leather ones, too warm for overseas?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Mrs E and I took this route last year and have been walking all of... twice
They're very robust, but possibly a bit *too* heavy. It's a bit like taking an icebreaker to go punting on the Thames :rotfl:0 -

Karrimors are an ok boot to get started with, had a pair of their shoes, where are you going walking ?
I did get blisters with my karrimors so be very wary of that, don't waste your time with ordinary plasters, get the blister ones, also remember thick socks, will you be using sticks ?
Your making me wanna go walking again0 -

Me too!
We had a fab walking holiday along the Catalan coastal path (S'Agaro to Aiguablava with inland detours to Palafrugel and Begur) in September and we're planning to do something similar later this year:D

Oh chicken that sounds heaven to me, we tend to walk around Scotland, don't get me wrong it's stunning, but it's wet and windy and full of midges
When we went to the USA last year we did a wee bit of walking at the grab canyon and Yosemite park, but I wanted to do more , however I kept getting really out of breath, I noticed it at the Grand Canyon I was literally dragging myself down and up the gorges, I couldn't understand it at all ... Till I finally figured out altitude ... Duh ... So would love to go back and walk a lot more there but would need to stay for a few months and practice ( obviously I wouldn't mind that)
It's on our list of things to do when we retire... I don't think we will have time to sit down when we retire lol0 -
