Congrats on your 6 mile walk this morning Gally, I am with you on the weightloss - weighed this morning - 18lbs to go in 5 months...
Mfp is good help tho isnt it, I use calorie counter and its annoying as anything logging everything but it keeps me accountable - plus i think if I eat this, I have the PITA of logging it so I dont bother to eat it! :rotfl:Simplify and then Simplify some more!0 -
Think I'll stop at Lucky 7.
Just checked pool timetable, open for 50m swimming at 6.30 tomorrow morning so if head ok I'll be going for a swim .. Swimming is the only exercise I really enjoy, apart from walking, but it gives me headaches as it puts strain on my neck. Have just sent email about 1 2 1 lessons. Won't be cheap .

Wow and I have made it to the end of your thread. Well done on now owning 3 mortgages, I have 2 on one property and they total more than yours
we could get rid of them quickly if we were interested in changing our lifestyle but that is not an option so I am going to try and make small changes for now.

Happy New Year GG:D and I hope the bruised brain is on the mend. I'm EXACTLY the same as you regarding swimming - I hate my face being underwater for some reason.
I'd like to get my garden sorted out this year also (amongst other things!) as it's got so much potential, including an outbuilding at the bottom which is currently dilapidated but would make a brilliant space for wine drinking parties during the summer evenings:DFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

It's all about deciding what is important to you - paying off the mortgage or something else? For example, an iphone and ipad - I'd sooner have a few months off the mortgage. But holidays - now they're a different matter
. Even then, most things can be done cheaply or expensively, it's all about striking a balance you're happy with.

On my way. What do we need? Scythe to get to it? Hammer, nails tool kit. drill and big extension lead. Paint and brushes. Wine obviously.
Pretty much everything as above:D my son is due to qualify as a sparky this year, and I have given him advance notice of wishing the entire garden - both front and back - to be fully 'electrified' this year:D When I was house hunting a couple of years ago, I viewed a property that came complete with bar, sound system in the garden, and a garden room complete with TV:TFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Happy New Year GG, good luck learning to swim, I learned as a child as my parents thought it would be beneficial - they say they vividly remember the panic as I got in took my arm bands off and prompty sat on the bottom of the pool. Someone lifted me out and I wouldnt stop crying til they put me back in......things haven't really improved since then, I'm much happier under the water than I am on top of it!!It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Holidays and eating out are our weaknesses, holidays will not be compromised but I am hoping to meal plan/shop in advance to limit eating out to once a week for now. Once I get Mr AJM used to that I will try and get down from that. We are not really gadget people but are getting to used to buying clothes at the moment and they are not the cheap variety, I blame Lulabelle myself! The bills have been shaved as much as possible so it just daily spends and utility usage that may help. My calculations do not take into account interest rate rises but they don't take pay rises into account either so I think we have something we can work on. Current MF date Feb 2030, based on OPs at the mo it is Jan 2023, I want Aug 2022 as a minimum, July 2021 as a better option. I am going to try and shave a month off at a time but I am not entirely sure how to do that? Our second mortgage will be taken care of from savings when we have paid off the larger one so effectively that one is offset, just tackling the bigger higher interest rate one at the mo.
Anyway sorry for hijacking your thread with my drivel.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

AJ - you may already do this already, however in case not, perhaps you should look into mystery shopping and get paid to eat out (of course you do have to pay attention to things - unlike me when I used to do reports having forgotten to check, or ask for half the things I was meant to:eek:)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

I looked at the introduction to the thread on here and it scared me so I didn't bother. We have talked about it on many occasions so maybe this should me the year we get into mystery shopping.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
