Oh I'm catching up, HP7 - yay!
Lending my copy to a fellow freecycler tomorrow
What's this about plants, must read back. Lula that's very flattering, m not very clever just very obsessive
Whats a bully tree?
Chainsaws - yay, I have one. Love it but do have proper gloves, trousers, wellies (you get chainsaw wellies, it's true) and eye things, not eye wellies, head/eye ear guard..... Work wouldn't let us use them otherwise, scary things. Mind you, I'm dangerous with a bread knife!!

Evening/morning Pippi!
The plants thing - maybe you could advise, actually - its about going away, and leaving plants in pots. I've more or less decided to leave everything in pots, nestled underneath the laurel at the end of the garden, except for the pennymint and the creeping something or other:o:o that I bought at Crawley Folk Festival the other day - they look a bit unhealthy in the middle, and may well be pot-bound .... I'm going to clear some ground to plant them today, and if necessary (I'll check the forecast) rig something like a fleece to shade them. Could use the insect netting thats supposed to go inside the house, actually
I know that sounds weird
Anyway, today is fairly busy for me paid-work-wise - 3 hours, more:o:o but I'm already at it on the scanning-decluttering - some stuff, I can happily not scan, articles that date back to the early 90s, theory and practice and issues have moved on.
Apart from the paid-work, there's the scanning, and there's also digging up enough grass to plant the little pennyroyal and creeping something-or-other, the dishwasher is on, I'll put the w/m on if I have time before my first client arrives. Hooray for holibobs! :T How long are you away for? I must admit I just give the plants a really good watering for the couple of days before and then leave them to take their chancesDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Just what squirrel said, if you're very worried you could put down a black bag/bit plastic for them to sit on (will catch the rain and they will get a bit extra) or similarily a tray - that way they get the rain in their pots but a bit of a reserve too.

Thanks Pippi - the black bin bag is an idea! Its also a sight less work before I go on holiday than what I had planned, digging out enough of the grass to plant them. Tho now I'm wondering if I should repot them. It really is known as paranoia - in this case, the *sun* is out to get me2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Oo where are you heading to? I missed that completely.
When I was away the other week i had a few plants that I hadnt potted up. I put a towel into the bath soaked it and then stood the pots on top, gave them a water and crossed my fingers. It worked I was gobsmacked! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Thanks Cheri! I'll do the outside equivalent of that, then, its much easier... *must* put them into the ground before I've been here a year tho (which is 18 August :eek::eek:)
I'm off to Norfolk! The extreme western end of the north coastmy sister and I have done some research and found whats nearby, and I had a brainwave about the travel, so the journey for all three of us (my mum is coming too) is an hour shorter than it was :j:j:j
Two hours done, one more to go - and I'm hungry! I might even eat :spam: no I wouldn't reallybut definitely :EasterBun some non-seasonal is in the fridge

All done now! What a very sensible idea, Squizz - thank heavens I didn't see it before my session
Cup of tea. No cake
Bit of a walk in the fresh air is called for, and some more tidying away.
I'm trying to reduce my 3 bookcases (one of which is 7 feet long ) to two (including the 7 footer :rotfl:). Since I adore Stargate, I won't be getting rid of the DVDs, and I'm seriously considering chucking out the DVD covers - a DVD case takes up a *lot* more room than a dvd, and I have loads of those soft plastic cases, plus pretty purpose-made heavy duty cardboard boxes to put them in.
My brain has been wandering. I've also been thinking about this:
http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/camping-accessories/wilko-shower-solar/invt/0299756/
which I saw on a trawl for something-completely-different. My bathroom has to be gutted, to completely get rid of this mould, and I'm just wondering about whether thats possible, and whether its "wantable" ... I guess I'd better blog about it!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
