Sorry if I put a downer on this but I have to just say that I also used to be happy if Mum didnt want to talk, I got off with having to go visit. Oh how sorry I am now that she isnt around when I just would love to tell her something.
That said I do get :mad: when Mr C talks to his Dad EVERY night for 1 hour even when he just came back after a weekend with them. Try to keep a lid on it though as his Mum is now suffering from Alzheimers so I know that his Dad needs lots of support.
Sorry............. sloping off again.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
sounds like a very productive day for you0

I speak to my Mum every day on the phone, but it's never a long conversation. She normally rings me during the adverts, but as I don't watch soaps I have no idea of times, so she's trying to get me off the phone as she's desperate to get back to her telly.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Don't worry cheri - I've seen that conversation on here many times, and of course I'll be devastated when she dies... but this was the fourth time in the last two weeks that she's told me about the repair to the shed, for instance, and the umpteenth time I got a sarcastic comment for decluttering, and the umpteenth time I was belittled for being single, as well as the umpteenth time she talked about what she was watching on tv while I was on the phone. As for telling her something, my life choices are not admired by her, so if there's something I'm chuffed about, I'm more likely to look forward to telling my sister.Sorry if I put a downer on this but I have to just say that I also used to be happy if Mum didnt want to talk, I got off with having to go visit. I still know tho, that I'm lucky to have her, and have her so healthy in many ways - she's still able to zap up and down the country on the train, still doesn't have the "old lady quaver", for instance. It will hit me so hard when she goes, but I can't pretend that these phone calls are easy.
As for you Cheri - stop sloping off
and sit down and have a cuppa tea :kisses3:
It was in the end, Taxi, it surprises me, but it was :jsounds like a very productive day for you
I speak to mine a minimum of twice a week - its usually about 45 minutes a time - but there are often other little conversations as well. And as I say, she just carries on watching tv while I'm ringing.gilligansyle wrote: »I speak to my Mum every day on the phone, but it's never a long conversation. That sounds like a pretty good day - always good getting things done like putting stuff up and de-dustifying.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Anyway, I feel much better today :j and my mega-tidying session yesterday has also made it easier to see what else I have to do.
Today, I have 2 hours paid work, plus adminny stuff to do, phone calls, emails, that sort of thing, plus money to push around ("oi! money! come 'ere you!" :rotfl:) and a bit of cleaning, as Wol and Numpty are hopefully coming here tomorrow :j
EDIT - I have a new word! De-dustifying!!! Love it, Squizz :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Unixgirluk has made an offer of music festival tickets on Pippilongstocking's thread - they're for this weekend - first come, first served, I'm pretty sure..... its a really kind offer.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Gosh my subscribed threads are quiet .... hmmm, I was just looking at a blog recommended by FW, and one post said, for those working from home, concentrate. Hmmm.
Well, I've just come back on after cleaning my old laptop .... however did it keep working? I got a toothbrush to the keyboard to brush away the dust, it actually got my allergies going a bit
just given it a thorough swiping with those cleanwipes, and I'll wrap it up properly when its dry.
Coffee. Then off to do the very last thing in my list that I made on Monday, more woodfiller. Getting there eventually.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
