Thanks Pippi! I've just had the most *amazing* walk, and it was only about 35 mins there and back - went down a single track lane that I pass on my way to the GP - ended up in the countryside, with 3 footpaths off it, and at least 3 little nature reserves - I'll have to go back again with a camera, it was staggering - the advantages of living in a small town thats *not* directly on the coast!
Cuppa tea, think of a way to apologise for not sending off two family birthday cards, which I've just realised I've (not) done - very oops.
Awww, that sounds BLISS - can I come and live there?! Hope it was nice and sunny too, it'll be lovely in the Summer (so jealous)

I'm so jealous of sunshine, and country type stuff. I was watching sunshine out of an office window today, and could see the Severn in the distance, so really good. Although I have my favourite walk down by the Mersey, its not quite the same thing!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning! No, its not sadly - but a view of the Severn and a walk by the Mersey isn't half bad - Eastham Parish Church is right by the Mersey, as I remember...
Well, my morning has not gone so well since I switched the computer on ... had a brilliant to do list, felt very comfortable with it ... and the internet connection failed .... sounds like my wireless connection has gone bust, tho it still works on ethernet... I'll be rattling around trying to fix that, wireless was an important part of the whole conceptonly just got online, so not even looked at the trading yet, I'm v p**** off about that, felt sure I'd click the button today.
Okay. Put the heating on, phone my brother (its his birthday card I've missed, and he's off work with a bad back) and examine the trading. Finally.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Was that on the brand new laptop? It will be under warranty, I should ring the helpline and get them to talk you through what to check. They are used to people saying "press what!"One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

Boo to naughty computers! Hope you can still click the button later
The walk sounds lovely!

It *is* the new lappie, yes
and apart from Virgin, who've now washed their hands of me unless I pay them money, I don't know what helpline to ring - Samsung laptop, purchased at Sainsbury - any ideas?
The walk was sooooooooo lovely.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ring 0330 7267864 Samsung support line for Notebooks (laptops) They will ask you for the serial number etc off the laptop. They have been absolutely brilliant and helpful with both my TV and mobile phone.
if it turns out to be a fault they need to sort they are very quick over engineers. Just make it clear that you use the laptop for business even though it was a "private" purchase via Sainsbo rather than a commercial type transaction. One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

Oh wow! Thank you! I had no idea the lappie people would have a helpline, much less a helpful one. Possibly I've leaned on my ISP helpline too much
:o:o

Because the ethernet cable works it more likely to be the wireless part of the lappie, but at least if they talk you through everything and the lappie is fine you can go back to V!rgin and say the modem hub box is broken.
Personally I would move to BT internet. You need a reliable speed and service and they give it, even in the sticks where we are. If you don't have a phone line then they have been doing an offer where if you have their internet they fit the landlie for free. Also you get a wireless broadband box for free. We got an internet phone with ours which has its own telephone number and is used for business calls.
Your service with V is so poor and outside the terms that they should work under you should have a get out clause - especially when it never works in the evening. One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

Bless you! You can have all my (unfortunately non-existent :rotfl:) children down to the seventh generation - my wireless is working! I just needed to be able to switch from the old wireless connection to the new one!
I love my laptop again
But I've lost a whole trading day
I guess the universe wanted me to catch up on the rest of my life
EDIT - just seen your next post - yes, when my year's contract is up with Virgin, I'm off, wild horses wouldn't drag me back to them.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
