  • Am feeling a bit pants now, had a text of my work collegue whos husband died before Christmas, she was saying how she was glad the 10th is nearly over, her hubby died on the 10th. What is the matter with me this year, I cannot seem to remember any dates? She has done amazingly well, her and her son are coping fantastically, I know her husband would be very proud, just wish I thought to tell her that!

It's amazing how something can just stop you in your tracks and make you realise how lucky you are.:(

    Sorry just needed to share.

Hun, do you use a calendar/plan a day diary at all? If you really want to remember stuff then you need to write stuff down. My memory is shocking nowadays, but i don't often miss stuff if i write it in my diary.

If you were to right in your diary now for the 10th of May, you could ring her on that day or see if she wants to spend some time with you.

Don't beat yourself up about forgetting.

Thanks cha, I do use a diary, the problem is once the weekend hits I'm lucky if I know where it is, let alone actually look at it! Hubby has put the date in his 'Outlook diary':o

Sorry I missed responding TPA. If you want any more advice on what you bought, drop me a PM.

We have a calendar on the wall by the PC so we can see events coming and going (and occasionally act on them in time!) :D

  • Oh dear I have had the most dreadful 'foot in mouth moment'.

We have a real problem with people parking on pavements round here, when I say parking on pavements I mean the type that completely cover the pavement..so much so they have to get out of the passenger side of the car - weird...anyway was walking the dog earlier, woman parked on the pavement..got out the passenger side, another car on other side of road, meaning neighbour struggled to get through with her tiny car on the road, other neighbour had to negotiate the road with the pushchair...stupid here AKA TPA says to driver..'it would be nice to be able to walk on the pavement rather than the car being parked on it'. she says, ‘I'm really sorry we have just come back from my Dads funeral’ - oh Crap!

TA - funerals don't give you liberty to park thoughtlessly. She is still wrong and you were not rude, just unlucky she had had a difficult day - maybe make sure they are wearing coloured clothes next time? ;)

In my defence they looked like they had been to a wedding, it must have been a no black funeral, had on flowery dress and a colourful hair doo dah...... not a hat but close....whats it called???:rotfl:

Do you mean a fascinator? One of those hair piecey feathery things you clip in?

Don't feel too bad. She might have been spinning you a line, and as katsu says, no right to park badly still, unless it was the hearse. ;)

You do always do it though don't you. :rotfl:

I hate to say that your neighbour lies - but a fascinator for a funeral? Sounds more like a wedding to me!

Here is the P I dropped, TPA ;)
