I am in the process of writting a huge extremly funny opening post, its difficult with 'man flu' and a slight hang over!:rotfl:
[/STRIKE] Done all - except the funny bits...still a bit [STRIKE]hungover[/STRIKE] flu like.
01.01.2011 sees us with an outstanding balance on the mortgage of £21,707.98. This being the actual balance of the mortgage minus any savings.
We have 19 months worth of wages coming in before i'm 40 years old and our target of being Mortgage Free:)
We are lucky enough to be on a tracker rate of 0.59% above base rate - currently 1.09%. However I am sensible enough to realise the base rate is bound to rise soon:( Current interest is £45.38 per month.
We currently automatically over pay monthly by around £150, the remaining over payments are done on an adhoc bases..........money normal gets moved into savings and when they mature they get paid off the mortgage in a lump sum. However last year we had lots of regular savers, some paying as much as 8%, these have now come to an end and as rates are nowhere near as favourable now I anticipate overpaying lump sums monthly (on top of the regular payment)
Quick round up: We = me, hubby of six years, beautiful puddy cat and one very naughty dog.
I work 4 days a week in main job topped up currently with some extra work on weekends and one evening per week (which will be stopping by the begining of June)
I also mystery shop - some times a lot, sometimes a little!
Hubby works silly hours - but gets paid the same wage no matter:mad:. Up until this year he has been awarded a yearly bonus (no he's not a banker!) depending on his performance, which has always worked out well, however, he has just recieved a letter saying this is about to stop:mad:
Well, that’s another year over and done with, making us another year closer to being MF!
What a year 2010 turned out to be:
2010 round up:
Martin stole the rolley eyes smiley – I really miss it
We spent thousands on our house: New windows, fascias and soffits (sp?), new kitchen – everything replaced
Stuart - went AWOL and to the best of my knowledge has not returned:(
Taka lost an amazing amount of weight:T
GG became madder than ever:rotfl:
DansMum came back to us:T
Cha, became even harder on herself - we must in 2011 make her realise what a wonderful person she is.:A
SML-got a baby in her tummy:j (I have no idea how this happens - GG how are babies made?)
I started and failed lots of challenges!

Hope your targets are achievable and come 12 months time you've reached your financial goals, but not left other areas of your life, physical, social, spiritual to go to ruin.

Still up for buddying up this year on the food and alcohol? I'm asking now while enjoying a glass of wine and a handful of choccies as i have had hardly any all over the hols, but i did enjoy the clear head and no hangover today. 1st time in too many years.
Can't wait to see your challenges.0 -

Yep, i'm up for it cha, when shall we start? Monday?
Have updated the first post, not sure if it makes much sense as I still feel pants - mixture of too much New Years Eve cheer and my 'man flu'.:o

Monday sounds great. Enough time to make up for eating too healthily over christmas first.
I've challenged myself for 15x lots of exercise, and i am thinking no booze for the rest of the month at least. Want to raise or match me.
(I'm going to count anything i would not normally be doing as exercise, and i am not going hell for leather as i still cannot breathe properly. But i am sure starting easy won't be a problem with your dodgy knee anyway.
ETa - just read your 1st post. Ahh. You think so much of me and it is mutual my darling. We can chiv each other along this year. Also, have you noticed that myself, Gally and you are all around the same level of mortgage - savings. Mine is more like £22.5 at the minute after paying for the kitchen. I think old courgette is round there too. We must all be doing something kind of right.0 -

Seriously, great going by all of you and I can't wait to be back into OPing once I've got a new job.
