my sons ps3 had the YLOD in October. The local shop where I lived was unable to fix it so they sent it to a place in Edinburgh. Got it fixed for 60 quid with a 6 month guarantee to boot. it has worked fine ever since. Try local computer shops they might be able to help u or give u advice where to go.0

Sorry I dont. The shop I took the PS3 to is called Aladdins Cave in Leslie, Glenrothes. They then passed it to a place in Edinburgh. You should maybe give Aladdins Cave a call they may be able to help.
I hope u get it fixed

Yep. Use any of the Youtube videos / internet How-Tos on how to dismantle the PS3 and follow them to the part where you remove the Blu-Ray drive. Remove the Blue-Ray drive from the PS3 and take off the top cover of the drive by undoing a couple of small screws that hold it in place. Once done, you'll see where the disc sits and a small round glass lense near the middle. Get a dry cotton bud and rub it over the lense several times applying slight pressure. This removes the thin film of grease and/or nicotine that usually builds up. Rebuild it all again and it should be good to go.0 -
