Hey folks,
I've had my PS3 since the first day it came out but over the Xmas period it has broke so haven't had the chance to play my new games which is upsetting
Just wondering if anyone knows of the cheapest way for me to get it fixed?
Thanks guys in advance!

cheapest is to do it yourself.
I've fixed two PS3's with different faults, a quick search on youtube will show you exactly how to fix it (I don't even own a PS3).
If it is the drive mechanism, a replacement is around £60-70 from Ebay and a fairly quick fix.
If it is the YLOD then the repair is free as it only involves a complete strip down and pointing a heat gun at the mainboard for a few seconds.
what is it not doing exactly?0 -
Yes I agree with Apples2 fix it yourself or get someone who is competent in your family if your not sure yourself. Ebay is your best bet to find cheap parts for your PS3 just be careful there are a few scam artists on ebay. Don't bother with Sony unless u have an extented warrantly as they will want well over £100 to fix it.0

as youve had it since xmas day why not return it to the retailer for a swap/exchange0 -
I didn't get it for Xmas I got it in 2007 when it first came out so my warranty doesn't cover it. It the Yellow flashing light thats wrong with it. Thanks for the advice so far guys but I don't want to fix it myself just looking for the cheapest place/website to get it fixed.0
