Thank you for all the kind words everyone! OH is dealing with the insurance company from now on as they were stressing me out - trying to find any excuse not to pay out :( the worst thing is not feeling safe at home though.

Hugs Flower, thats horrible thing to happen :(. Has your blood pressure got any better?

Blood pressure has gone up slightly (nothing like some scumbag stealing £6k worth of stuff to get your blood pressure up!) but its not 100% yet - thank you for asking :D hope you and bump are ok?

PAD for me today is £3.53 to HSBC CC please!

    £434.65 from me thanks.
I am now in Santander's new, simplified (aka more expensive for most people) overdraft system - and there's nothing that I can do about it for a few days - until some cheques clear in my business account. Well, I could do something about it, but it would be more expensive than paying their daily overdraft fee. So I will leave it be.
    Simplified? Pah!!

More expensive is about right... costing me double for it!

I'm with Santander but haven't noticed any change? How are they doing it now, does it apply to everyone?

£169 for me today please xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Believe me when I say that I phoned them just to have a go about it some weeks ago. I actually told them that their bank was sh*t - and I got away with it. I'm not one for playing with words if I feel aggrieved at an institution. Fortunately, I don't use the same criteria in conducting my personal relationships :D .

It applies to most accounts. 50p per day with a ceiling of 20 days per charging month. i.e. you can pay up to £10 for something that might have only cost 50p a few weeks ago. They did give ample warning so I can't fault them for that side of things.
Will have to try to screw them for misselling my mortgage protection cover. That'll show the bast!!** .

Sadly it's not the institution you were having a go at, it's the poorly paid b*gger in their call centre :(

Having worked in a bank branch before, it's horrendous how many people think that the cashier in front of them on low wages is responsible for changes. We're often affected by the same changes that the customers are and still have to take the abuse. I was yelled at and even threatened when I worked in my branch and am so glad I don't work in face to face customer service anymore.

Even though I'm peeved with some of the changes my bank has made recently, I do try not to take it out on the frontline staff.

Sorry to highlight you for this Paul, I know you're a lovely guy, but calling up just to have a go makes me feel sorry for the poor sod who got you on the phone :o
