Hi guys, hope its ok to pop in and gatecrash and ask a question - I want to start chipping away at the old cc bills, when you guys post on here for example ".67p to cc "are you actually pinging it over to the bill or do you put these odd bits of cash into a jam jar and pay to the cc/bill when you have a bit of a bigger amount of money??
Love to know how you do it and pick up some ideas, thanks xLBM March 2011 (what on earth took me so long?)overdraft (1) -2950 overdraft (2) -246.00total CC £12,661 :eek:loan £5000DFD 2016:eek::eek: (cant come soon enough)0 -

Not sure if its polite to ask, but im interested in how you guys do the payment a day - for example has your 64p already been sent to the cc or is it in a jam jar waiting to become a bigger amount of money?
I really want to starting chipping away at my CC and would love to pick up some tips xLBM March 2011 (what on earth took me so long?)overdraft (1) -2950 overdraft (2) -246.00total CC £12,661 :eek:loan £5000DFD 2016:eek::eek: (cant come soon enough)0 -

There's a giant weight that lifts off your shoulders when you pay the final payment. My figures are in my signature - I cleared over £9,000 in 25 months, so it's doable, you just have to plug at it.
I'm now PADding to savings and find that I get massive satisfaction from seeing the balance go up - when I was PADding before it was to see balances go down :rotfl:
I always point people to this thread when they talk about their debts. PAD doesn't work for everyone, but without it I would be in more debt than £9,000 and I would be miserable. With this one simple idea and the support of so many PADders I'm proud to be debt-free. Thanks guys :T
This is an amazing story - nice, positive and too the point and thankyou so much for sharing....currently in my debt busting I've only busted about £4k in two years but even so...it's better than nothing and better than consolidating
So this is an expensive (supposed to be frugal) way over budget w/e I'm having in North scotland but hey ho tis fun and my first holiday in yonks and the accomodation was only £20 (£10 to the KKK for board and £10 to friend for looking after ratties)...Alas train fare was supposed to be £15.50 and is now upto £22.90 cos I changed trains home tonight but that's still cheaper than a standard single
Basically the thrift stores round here are just toogood and I have very little that fits these days..Only think I've restrained myself from buying is a £7.50 coat in Dingwall in what must be one of the best thrift stores in the entire country (it's a community project)...70p for coffee and you can get an entire wardrobe for £2.50 if you go upstairs in the 'jumble'...
And now back aches and I really MUST get to bed...
