Thanks Polka purpura. The highest CC is in my name and the other in OH's name. I'm now retired so not sure that I will be able to to switch cards and I've recently had a late payment I went into hospital a day earlier than planned and forgot to pay. I paid as soon as I came home and phoned them (they still charged me tho.)
I'll try out the website link tomorrow when I'm more awake.

You should also get a hold of your credit files (see MSE main site) and contact the Reference Agency to add an explanatory note for the missed payment if that shows up. That will help you if you do want to change cards. Fair enough to miss a payment in extenuating circumstances like that - and lenders should take that into account....Debt Free 25th August 2010 with PAD !!TARGETS ::D

When I was deepest in debt the way I tried to think of things was that it's only money and as long as you show willing to pay these things, people are generally willing to work with you to get things cleared - it's to their advantage in the end, after all. I know that sounds trite, and I don't know your circumstances, but it's what got me through some very dark times.
Well, that and the odd tipple anyway
Hang in there x
Awww, thanks Thrifty. Fiscal Gods I can cope with, out of choice would even choose really grumpy & bad temepered ones right now
Instead I am blessed with a rather silly DH who thinks that just paying random amounts (actually quite large random amounts!) in the hope hope that HMRC don't really want those SA Return forms that they've been posting to him for the last, ooooh, let me see now - 5 flippety-flip years will all be ok!!!!!! Big, big, big serious HMRC poo looms in another 10 days...
Anyway, just thought I'd bob in and say hi, I feel much calmer having caught up on a couple of days posts. It's like coming home!
No PAD for the mo, hope to be back PADing soon though. Glad to hear Green is ok, hope everyone else is too. See you all when I come up for air next! Gone a bit chilly here so keep warm all.
