:hello: Hi everyone
Well ive been a busy little bee this morning, got loads done. I have managed to stretch one packet of mince (which I got at reduced price) to make 10 portions of Lasagne. Ive actually impressed myself!!
Im also cooking a chicken while the oven is on. Im not sure if today is going to be a NSD yet. I will post later to let you know how I get on.
Well done on the stretching........ it must have been a huge pack of mince!0 -

I've been fairly healthy this week, but I still have some Christmas cake my mum gave me and had a slice last night with a cuppa, bloody nice it was too.
But I think I may wrap some up and give it to my dad (they're divorced but he doesn't mind eating her food :rotfl:)0 -
Evening all. I just had a blonde moment............ was skim reading the recent posts and wondered how putting a phone in rice would help it dry out. In my mind, I was seeing it as a bowl of boiled rice LOL!!!! Ok, all have a laugh at me now. Bought 3 books from a series I know he likes for eldest DGS today @ 25p each. DD couldnt remember if he had them already - turns out he has 2 out of the 3 GRRRRRR. Never mind, I will get my 50p back when I see them at the car boot sale we ARE having in April. That was 1 of our joint NY resolutions - 2 car boot sales this year.0

APPLE MINT, iwas thinking about a chocolate and peanut butter hot sauce ( bit of broken chocolate, bit of p butter, but of milk or cream to add viscosity? bain marier style?
Oh yes! :jdizzy_lizzie wrote: »apple_mint how about warming up some strawberry jam and pouring it over. What if you made it into a knickerbocker glory by adding fruit in layers then add the jam and a sprinkle of nuts?
Talking of desserts just taken the recipe from itsallinthemind out of the oven. No muesli so used cornflakes, no pecans so used walnuts and almonds. Whizzed in the food processor and baked. 5 slices gone already! It is absolutely gorgeous. Are we ok posting pics 'cos I've done one already? Well here it is just in case we are before we all grabbed a slice

Oh i go through stages. I go through a baking everything in sight Nigella phase- then a slimming world phase. Im in the nigella one at the mo, but I need to start SW again as my figure has not held well over Xmas
the problem is it can be a bit expensive. I dont go for the classes obv, but it limits a lot what you can choose, ie if something is cheap you cant have it! So you cant really take advantage of the whoopsies in the same way. Oh well I'll have to ponder that one! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I know what you mean, I've been to SW a few times myself. But I'm not going back! This time I'm just cutting back on fatty snacks, trying to eat my five a day and generally eating healthily. Oh, and I'll do some exercise when I get round to it! :rotfl:
There's a thread on losing weight the OS way on the Old Style board.0 -
Now I've had a think how I want to keep a record on my frugality I'll post here to keep me in check.
Groceries and toiletries will be a spend of £60 a week or £240 for the month so will add up and keep a tally week by week in my sig and just add to it every day if/when I spend anything. Have added in todays as did the shopping but will probably still need a couple of things in the week. This amount is for a family of 5 adults and a little jack girl.
landregistrylass OH and I also like to browse carboots. It gets us up in the morning and is a form of exerciseWhy don't you still go to them but only take a small amount of cash, say a fiver, then you're not tempted to spend loads but still have that little pleasure in your life?

Crikey this thread moves fast! I think I'm going to have to lurk as I'll never keep up with it all :rotfl:
So far I'm on target, but I planned my budget before I saw the No Supermarket Challenge here which really got me thinking. I've signed up for that as I can see how much my small town has changed in 10 years (we now have 4 MrTs of various sizes, numerous mobile 'phone & chain coffee shops & not a lot else) so I think I may go overbudget slightly but support more local independents.
I'm lucky that I can afford to do this & there is some flexibility in my budget.
Glad to report 4 NSDs so far, & am under my Jan GC budget - how long can I keep it up for?& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Hello Frugallers,
I'm having an absolutely shockingly bad day so been reading on here trying to chill out.
NSD due to not being out due to horrible weather which doesn't make today better lol. I've been watching 4od mostly and bbc iplayer on OH's PS3 this afternoon and watched an awsome film type thing called Enid, it was all about Enid Blyton's life and I was pretty shocked! I read loads of her works when I was little and had this really sweet homely image of her and she wasn't like that at all. Weird.
Hope we are all doing okay, comisseration where they are due.
