Dizzy- Don't feel naughty! I love making a fuss of holidays as it breaks up the year. I have a windowsill in my lounge that I decorate throughout the seasons and celebrations so I'm always after a few frugal finds to decorate with.
I have a few valentines bits from Hobbycraft from there sale. I can't say to much as OH reads over my sholder but they have a few valentine bits for around 29p and a few things that can double up for other holidays. Last year I cut loads of random sized hearts from some red foil wrapping paper and decorated the flat with them. Also get creative with your food as they say thats the way to a mans heart. Cut sarnies into heart shapes, dribble ketchup on his chips in a heart shape, make a mash potatoe sculpture lol.
I also put a tute on my blog about making woven paper hearts from junk mail as a quick frugal decoration.
Perhaps we should pool some ideas on here?

I'm not into Valentines even when in a relationship, if anything I am anti it. But would love a look as things can always be adapted and I love reusing things0 -

Hi Fishcake. It does break the year up doesn't it? In a nice way. Could you pm me the link to your blog. Would love to try those paper hearts. Thanks for the ideas.
Had a quick google on thrifty valentine gifts. Saw one were you tie a little note to a key saying 'You have the key to my heart' I suppose if you pretty up the note/tag it could look sweet and most of us have a redundant key lying around and that would be virtually free. Also a suggestion on doing a tribute to your loved one on youtube then posting the link to him/her. That's different and free but I wouldn't have the nerve to do that. Another one I liked was buying not a box but a bar of chocolate and doing your own wrapping round it, or printing one off the net (both free) and writing on something like 'you are the best bar none'
Hope that isn't taking the thread off topic...it's still frugal related
