I popped into Mr A last night and they have tins of tomatoes at 15p each. Have no idea what kind of quality they are but bought 4. I'm such a spendthrift!

I'm on track for my first NSD of March today, unless Mr F texts me to buy milk again :rotfl:

Yesterday I spent £1.20 on chips for lunch (I know, I know...!) but that was it, so it was a LSD I suppose.

I'm looking forward to a spendy weekend - supermarket tomorrow then a massive craft fair on Sunday at the SECC. Thankfully that's coming from savings and not from my frugalista budget :D

Mega spend yesterday :( £145 to the council so they know we're knocking a hole in our wall - it could have been worse as I thought you also had to include the cost of buying the woodburner & flue but the Building Reg guy said no - its only the cost of the work which as DH is doing will be well under the first limit. Had a wander round Aldi on my way to Yoga - fatal!!! Bought a bird box, some dishwashing tablets, sweeties for DH & other odds & sods £13.50 all together. NSD today though - it was such a lovely day DH & I worked in the garden, tidying & clearing. I feel very satisfied with our efforts!
EFC - how lovely to hear of your experience with your Freecyclers - I've met such a lot of really lovely people on our area too. It does restore your faith in human nature doesn't it.

Hugs to all - whether you need them or not. Hope everyone has a good frugall w/e
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Welcome to anyone new to the challenge :hello:

A spend day for me today as I went into Mr A after going for a regular appointment at the hospital and waiting 80 mins to see my consultant  the people at the hospital are lovely its just the waiting around i hate.

I still found time to take the healthwalk this morning so me and 14 others went for our usual walk and chat bliss this morning as it was sunny but cold.

I hope everyone has a good frugal weekend !!

Welcome, Roger Ramjet, enjoy the party!

CW, my SoW is acting a bit weirdly: when i enter the monthly windowcleaning bill, I look on the totals page and it's appearing month by month, but isn't adding up in the spends so far column which still only has one month's worth in it. Plus, the March column on the totals page has got some figures in black but others are mysteriously greyed out - what does that mean? (Could these figures be The Ghosts Of Spaving Past...?)

Hello everyone have you missed me?! I've been in DT for a few days getting myself in a tangle on the fostering thread as it's of interest to me as I was fostered by Evangelical Christians age ten.

    Anyway I've missed you.

Been doing ok - twenty pound spend the in Tesco the other day and about seven in Lidl but a NSD today. Probably just beans on toast or tomato soup for dinner, although daughter will be in rather than galavanting for a change!

I bought lovely Warburton flatbreads the other day and used them to make delicious pizzas topped with fried peppers and onions, tomatoes, mozarella, grated cheddar and parma ham.

Lovely story about the roses EFC!

Also someone mentioned reading their charity shop book which reminded me to enter the Radox competition for a free book http://be-selfish.co.uk/selfishreadinghour-facebook

I have finally finished sorting the paperwork which I started months ago and the front room is reasonably tidy!

Hi Jay lovely to see you - fancy meeting you here!:rotfl:x

Hi all, thanks for the welcome. :)

23rd Spiral, I've seen all the tips, they look great. I'll be working my way through them as I have time.

    Hi Ruby, fancy, eh. :D

My first step today involved a spend: I joined the gym near my work, it was £24 for this month, and will be £27 a month ongoing. My plan is to go there after work most days.

I enjoy going, should get fitter, and I also won't have time to pop into the shops on the way home, for 'one or two things' which becomes a full trolley. It's become an expensive habit. :o
